Looking for some good eats this weekend? Check out The Strand House in Manhattan Beach (http://www.thestrandhousemb.com/) for upscale fusion cuisine and a view to drool over as much as the food.
Walking in, one feels like they’re entering a swag Vegas establishment rather than the beach-front dining experience that it really is. Walk up the stairs, and anyone will be blown away by the spectacular pier and beach spectacle that envelops the modern-chic décor inside. I could barely concentrate on swallowing my velvety glass of pinot noir being as I was captivated by the gorgeous Manhattan sunset and comparably attractive and sophisticated crowd inside the restaurant.
My view fascination subsided momentarily, however, when the Moody Blue cheese platter arrived at our table and the decadent flavor of smoked blue cheese paired with micro-greens, a potato-pear-crossed fruit, and nutty bread united to curl our toes in delight. The appetizer roasted Brussels sprouts with black garlic aioli was just another player in capturing our attention fully. When I was sure that I could not be any more pleased with this particular dining experience, the server poured another glass of smooth, peppery wine as our entrees made their way to the table. While my salmon was cooked to perfection and did not disappoint, I find myself anxious to visit The Strand House again to explore more of their delectable menu, which ranges from tasty gourmet pizzas to BBQ tofu to prime fillet beef. There’s a little something for all palates, and with an atmosphere that caters to posh after-work cocktails or a romantic dinner for two, I’m nearly positive that you will find The Strand House venture as scrumptious as I.
